Yttrium aluminum perovslit activated Cerium is a fast, mechanically amd chemically resistant scintillation material.   Mechanical properties enable precise machining.   Scintillator has very low energy secondary Xray emission, which is advantage for imaging applications.   YAP:Ce detectors are used for Gamma and Xray counting, electron microscopy, electron and Xray imaging screens.   Scintillation and mechanical properties enable usage in tomography systems.
